Our client is a Portuguese charge point manufacturer focussing on developing high-quality DC Charging Solutions. The company is founded in 2019 and has a strong focus on offering an exceptional user experience. Operating from its headquarters in Porto, the organization has successfully hired and built a dedicated team of 90+ highly skilled professionals. This unique charging manufacturer is selling its solutions across the globe. At present, the company is actively expanding its operations into the American and Northern European markets.

The company is expanding its geographical reach and presence to further strengthen and establish its brand. It will be your job to start the business from scratch on German soil.

Key objectives for this role

  • Open up the German market, acquire the first deals with leading CPO’s and further build the German office, create a network of installation partners to make it happen
  • Get the first DC Charging stations on the ground. Successfully pilot the solution and get the first units up and running supported by the existing development team and local partners
  • Spread the word. Collaborate with the headquarters team to implement local marketing activities that boost brand and product awareness in the region

Related activities to make this happen

  • Determine the most effective route to open the German market by assessing customer profiles and requirements
  • Assess potential business opportunities, establish new connections, and acquire new customers
  • Regularly engage with sales opportunities by conducting face-to-face meetings, phone calls, and emails
  • Timely report on sales activities and outcomes by utilizing the CRM system
  • Identify and collaborate with installation and service companies to provide support for sales and operations
  • Actively participate in exhibitions and seminars relevant to the industry
  • Work closely with colleagues at the headquarters in Portugal to ensure the technical and commercial fulfilment of customer expectations within specified timelines
  • Continuously adapt the company’s offerings to cater to local needs based on the evolving Electric Vehicle (EV) landscape

Your background and skillset

  • You are a solution-oriented salesperson with a minimum of 5 years of experience in technical sales within the German B2B market
  • (Preferably) minimum of 2 years of commercial experience in the German EV Charging Industry
  • Proven ability to create business opportunities from scratch. You have a successful track record of launching, building and establishing a new business and/or solution in the German market
  • As a result, you have the entrepreneurial spirit to pioneer in a new market. A mature self-starter with a broad skill set to make it truly happen
  • Hence, you are capable to lead complex sales processes
  • A Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in engineering, business administration, or related
  • Extensive network of Charge Point Operators (CPOs) in Germany
  • A self-motivated individual who thrives in a dynamic, rapidly evolving, and disruptive environment
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and effectively manage multiple projects at the same time
  • Experience working in an international, fast-growing, and cross-functional environment
  • Fluent in German and a professional command of the English language
