About the role: Develop and refine strategies and propositions, commercial leadership, building and professionalizing the sales team
As the new Commercial Director, you will partner with the CEO and the new Operational Director to guide the company into its next phase. During the initial months, you will focus on getting to know the organisation, its clients, partners, and, of course, your team.
Following the initial phase, you play a vital role in strengthening and expanding the propositions with the support of the CEO. At the same time, you explore the market to secure new deals and identify areas for improvement.
As a hands-on leader who excels at closing deals, you be a role model and inspiration for your teams. Once the commercial operations are well-established in the home markets, it will be time to expand internationally.
Key objectives for this role
- Grow into an international scale-up by developing a clear growth path. Develop a multi-year strategy and propositions for both the Benelux market and future markets such as Germany, France, and Central Europe. Track trends, analyse market dynamics, and make informed decisions about where to focus efforts. These steps will ensure substantial and sustainable revenue growth through 2030, solidifying the company’s leading position in key growth areas.
- Be the commercial driver of the team. Use your extensive sales experience and energetic approach to inspire your team. Take an active role in acquiring new customers and closing sales agreements. Your goal-oriented mindset will significantly contribute to achieving revenue targets.
- Develop and lead sales, marketing, and innovation departments: Build and guide a talented sales team of four, including two internal sales members, to deliver excellent results and ensure customer satisfaction. There is plenty of room for growth to turn this into a well-oiled and professional sales organisation. With streamlined processes, structure, and goals, leading to optimal commercial operations.

- Developing and implementing a strategic sales and marketing plan, with a focus on demonstrable growth, innovation, and effective execution
- Maintaining relationships with relevant stakeholders within the decision making unit of strategic customers, aimed at increasing sales opportunities
- Actively participating in or leading internal and external project teams focused on boosting sales
- Creating and developing propositions for selected market segments with associated pricing models
- Strictly monitoring the quality and budget of projects, with a keen eye on maximising revenue
- Expanding the international footprint, in collaboration with companies in the existing portfolio, to seize new sales opportunities and initiate and facilitate rollout to new countries
About your background and experience
- Completed higher education (MSc or BSc) with at least 3 years of proven experience in a managerial commercial role within a B2B service-providing company
- You are well-acquainted with the market, players, and issues surrounding the EV charging infrastructure in the Benelux region. Experience in commercialising charging infrastructure solutions in other markets, such as Germany/Central Europe, is a plus.
- In previous roles, you have not only led the commercial team on a daily basis but have also been involved in strategic decisions regarding sales and marketing
- Experienced in successfully acquiring and managing relationships at management and executive levels within top 500 companies both domestically and internationally. An existing, relevant corporate network is also a plus
- You have previously professionalised a commercial department. You excel in change processes and know how to involve people in them. Ideally, you have experience working in a start-up or scale-up environment and guiding such rapid growth
- You thrive in an international environment. You have excellent command of both Dutch and English, spoken and written
