Ayvens reveals cost benefits of EVs in its mobility guide

In its November 2023 edition of the Mobility Guide, Ayvens has highlighted a significant shift in the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) for Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs), making them a more economical choice compared to traditional internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles in many European countries. This comprehensive guide, primarily aimed at fleet managers, delves into the evolving landscape of electric vehicles (EVs) and international fleet management.

The guide reveals that operating a BEV is now cheaper than its ICE counterpart in several European nations, including France, Belgium, Austria, and Norway. This is a crucial development for the automotive industry and for businesses looking to transition to more sustainable practices.

Ayvens, a leading global sustainable mobility player, has leveraged its position as the world’s largest multi-brand EV fleet to provide valuable insights into the electrification of vehicles. The guide not only addresses the economic aspects but also sheds light on the barriers to BEV adoption, such as range anxiety, charging infrastructure complexity, and overall affordability.

The latest edition of the Mobility Guide evaluates 46 countries, providing a detailed analysis of factors like EV adoption, charging infrastructure, and regulatory environments. Interestingly, all 11 countries classified as ‘developed’ in terms of EV readiness are in Europe, with Norway leading the pack.

This shift towards more cost-effective EV operations is seen as a positive step towards sustainable mobility. The guide’s findings suggest that the TCO parity for BEVs has improved significantly, making them a viable option not just from an environmental standpoint but also in terms of economic feasibility.

Annie Pin, Chief Commercial Officer at Ayvens, emphasises the importance of this transition in light of rising energy costs and inflation, noting the complex decisions involved, especially for fleet managers operating across multiple countries. The Mobility Guide is envisioned as a sustainability compass, aiding in the electrification journey during this transformative era in the automotive industry.

As the world continues to grapple with climate change and the need for sustainable solutions, Ayvens’ Mobility Guide stands out as a crucial resource for businesses and policymakers, providing a comprehensive view of the global EV landscape and offering practical guidance for those looking to make the transition to electric vehicles.
