Public AC charge points per 1000 passenger cars on the road

There are about 444,000 publicly accessible electric vehicle charging stations in Europe by the end of the third quarter of 2022. This is an increase of 29% from the end of 2021.

At the end of the third quarter of 2022, there were, on average, 2.7  AC or 22 kW-equivalent, publicly accessible charging outlets installed throughout Europe, up from 1.9 at the end of 2021. This is an increase of 42%.

Due to the installation of more high-power chargers in 2022, the rise in installed power output will be greater than the growth in the total number of chargers.

The leading nations are still the Netherlands (10.2) and Norway (17.9), but 19 of the other 31 nations scored below the average for Europe.

The countries with the fewest charging stations per thousand passenger automobiles were Poland (0.3), Cyprus (0.3), and Greece (0.3).
